ADVANCED CLINICAL PRACTITIONER (ACP)

We would like to introduce our ACP Kim Allan-Smith.

An Advanced Clinical Practitioner is a Healthcare Professional who has undertaken a postgraduate MSC in Advanced Clinical Practice in order to expand their clinical role. They come from a range of clinical backgrounds such as nursing, paramedics, pharmacy and occupational health.

The ACP can work in Primary or Secondary care and with our GP setting, our ACP will work alongside the GPs as currently the GP will triage appropriate appointments to the ACP same day, by having this skill mix within our practice it will free up more complex needs and tasks for the GPs.

The ACP can take a medical history, carry out physical examinations, diagnose and prescribe for certain ailments, request and interpret diagnostic studies under their area of competence, they can help manage long term condition’s and offer health promotion and disease prevention.
